I deleted photos but my free space did not go up.
Deleted photos and videos go to the Recently Deleted album in Photos, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. The space comes back once they leave it. To get it back now, open Photos, go to Recently Deleted and choose Delete All.
If you use iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage, many originals live only in iCloud. Deleting those frees iCloud space but little space on the iPhone itself.
Does Gigback ever delete anything on its own?
No. Swiping left puts a photo in Gigback’s review bin. Nothing leaves your library until you open the bin, choose Delete, and confirm in the dialog iOS shows. Even then, it waits in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
Why did my free space go down while compressing?
Compression saves the smaller copy first and puts the original in the bin, so for a while both exist. Delete the originals from the bin, then empty Recently Deleted, and the difference comes back.
Some items were skipped during bulk compression.
Bulk compression only works on originals stored on your iPhone, so it never downloads gigabytes from iCloud to a phone that is already full. Items that are already small enough are also left alone. Neither counts as a failure.
How do I restore a purchase on a new iPhone?
Open Gigback, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought Gigback Pro with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Gigback. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Gigback only shows some of my photos.
Gigback can only see the photos you have given it access to. To give it your whole library, open the Settings app, go to Apps, then Gigback, then Photos, and choose Full Access.
Does Gigback upload my photos?
No. Gigback has no servers. Scanning and compression happen on your iPhone. The privacy policy has the details.
When you write
It helps to include your iPhone model, the iOS version (Settings, General, About), and what you were doing when the problem happened. A screenshot or screen recording is often the fastest way to show it.
