About Gigback
Gigback: Photo & Video Cleaner is an iPhone app made by independent developer Filip Djordjevic. It does one job: getting space back on an iPhone without losing a photo you meant to keep.
Who makes it
Gigback is designed, built and supported by Filip Djordjevic. Support email goes straight to the developer, and replies usually arrive within two working days.
Gigback’s only website is gigback.app. Apps and services with similar names come from other developers and are not related to it.
Why it works the way it does
A full photo library is rarely one big decision. It is thousands of small ones, and each is easy on its own: keep this, lose that. Gigback is built around making those small decisions quickly and safely.
- One photo at a time. Each card shows a photo or video with its date and size, so the space hogs stand out. Left bins it, right keeps it.
- A bin before the delete. iOS asks you to confirm before any app deletes photos. Gigback collects your decisions in a review bin and asks once, at the end, where you can still take anything back.
- Suggestions that leave your choices alone. The scan never preselects favorites or photos you have put in an album. Those were decisions you already made.
- Space you can trust. Space returns only once items leave Recently Deleted, and Gigback says so plainly. Figures marked ~ are estimates.
- Nothing pulled from iCloud. Bulk compression skips originals that live only in iCloud. A phone that needs space is the last place to download gigabytes to.
- On the device, and nowhere else. Gigback has no servers and no account. The scan and compression run on your iPhone with Apple’s on-device frameworks. The privacy policy has the details.
How Gigback is paid for
Swiping, the review bin and deleting are free with no limit, and there are no ads. Gigback Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase, adds the tools for big libraries: one-tap cleanup of every scan group, bulk compression, unlimited compressions and saved sessions.
