Gigback does not collect your photo library or track you. Photo analysis and compression happen on your iPhone, with no developer-operated servers.
Your photos and videos
Gigback asks for access to your photo library so it can show you your photos and videos and delete the ones you choose to delete. Analysis and compression run on your device. Gigback has no servers, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind.
If you use iCloud Photos, Apple's Photos services may download originals when you open or individually compress an item, and sync changes and compressed copies through your iCloud account. Bulk compression skips originals that are only in iCloud. If you choose Share, the selected items are sent to the app or destination you choose.
When you compress a photo or video, the new smaller copy is written back to your own photo library. When you delete something, iOS asks you to confirm and then moves it to your Recently Deleted album, exactly as the Photos app does. Gigback cannot delete anything without that confirmation.
What is stored on your device
Gigback keeps a small amount of information locally so it can remember where you left off:
- Which photos you have already reviewed, and what you decided.
- How much space you have reclaimed.
- Your settings, such as sort order and confirmation preferences.
- A cache of small thumbnails and analysis results, to keep the app fast.
- How many of your free compressions you have used, and interrupted compression jobs.
Gigback does not send this information to the developer. iOS may include app data in device backups according to your settings. Deleting Gigback removes its local app data, except two small counts: how many free compressions have been used, and whether the one free cleanup has been used. iOS keeps those in the Keychain, so reinstalling does not reset them. Photos and compressed copies in Photos remain in your library.
Analysis
Finding similar or blurry shots is done entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks. Gigback does not upload images or analysis results for processing.
The same analysis sorts photos into groups such as duplicates, documents and receipts, old screenshots, and dark or out-of-focus shots. It runs only on this iPhone, including in the background while it charges, and nothing is uploaded.
To pick the best shot in a group of people, Gigback asks Apple's Vision framework how clearly each face was captured. This produces a quality score only. It does not identify, recognise, or match anyone. The scores are kept on your iPhone with the other analysis results, are never shared, and are deleted with the app.
Purchases
Gigback Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a purchase is active. The app reads verified transaction information to unlock Pro. Gigback does not receive your payment card details, name, or email address from these purchases.
Children
Gigback is not directed at children. It does not track children or collect their photo libraries.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
This website
This section is about gigback.app only; the app itself contains no analytics. The website counts visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Neither sets cookies or stores anything on your device. They record which pages are viewed, the site that linked here, and the browser, device type and country derived from each request, and report them to the developer as totals.
Contact
If you contact support, the developer receives the email address and information you choose to send, and uses them to respond to your request. Contact: filip.djordjevic447@gmail.com
